On the afternoon of November 10th, the Institute of Structural Health Management held the second special lecture for the 2021 National Natural Science Foundation application. Professor Tang Chun, a distinguished professor of Jiangsu Province, was invited to provide guidance on the application of the fund for the teachers of the Institute.

Professor Tang Chun first shared the review process of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the precautions for each link, including the completion quality of the application, the precautions for the selection of the subject code, the selection of the attributes of the four scientific issues, and the main reasons for not accepting the project in the preliminary review. And the strict verification of the application and document labeling during the project review process. Next, Professor Tang Chun gave a meticulous and vivid lecture on the precautions and techniques of fund application. He proposed that the writing of the application form should be paid great attention to, and repeated scrutiny after the completion of the writing, to avoid details and errors affecting the overall quality of the application; the main line of the drawing should be clear and clear. The logic is clear; choose the research direction scientifically according to your own interests and expertise; concise and condense your own research content, and the research methods must be innovative, and so on.

After the report, the teachers at the meeting conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with Professor Tang regarding the problems in the writing of the fund application. Everyone agreed that Professor Tang Chun’s report was timely and gave important inspiration to personal fund application. It was written for young teachers. And the optimization of the application form laid the foundation and achieved very good results.
