On the afternoon of October 8, Vice President Wang Jingquan visited the Institute of Structural Health Management for a research and held a discussion meeting.

Firstly, Wang Jingquan visited the International Joint Research Center Laboratory for Key Structural Health Management of High-end Equipment, which is a national cooperation base. The center's director, Professor Luo Ying, introduced the laboratory's various equipment in detail, while Ph.D. student Zheng Shanpu demonstrated the operation of Doppler laser vibration measurement device and other experimental equipment. Wang Jingquan inquired about the use and advantages of each experimental equipment and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with relevant students and teachers in the laboratory.

Then, Wang Jingquan held an on-site exchange with all the teachers at the Research Institute. The institute's president, Zhu Jianguo, reported on the development history, platform construction, research results, talent cultivation, and the main problems and difficulties facing the institute, and gave a detailed introduction to the research situation of young teachers at the institute.

Vice President Wang Jingquan advises teachers to focus on both advanced theoretical research and practical research that meets national engineering needs. He suggests that the research institute should have an open mindset, emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration, integrate relevant resources, condense research directions, pay attention to talent cultivation, and build and make good use of national-level platforms to ensure the sustainable development of the institute.
