2pm on January 4th, 2019 at Room 408 of CE building

All 2017 postgraduate students
3. Organization
A master thesis proposal examination committee was established including 5 experts in Civil Engineering subject, the head of the committee should be a professor.
4. Examination
The scoring system was adopted for the examination, including two parts:
(1) Each master candidate shall prepare PPT slides and give a presentation about the proposal within 15-20 minutes during the examination (2) The experts in the examination committee will ask some questions about the proposal inclusive of topic selection, research content and technical route, etc. Students shall give answers within 5-10 minutes.
At the end of each student's presentation, the examine committee experts give the assessment scores according to his/her literature review, topic selection, research plan, oral presentation performance, etc. The final score of each postgraduate is the arithmetical average of the scores given by the 7 experts in which the highest and lowest scores shall be removed.
5. Examination results and treatment
Students who having final scores less than 60 or having academically misconduct cannot pass the examination. He or she will have a second chance to give oral presentation after 3 months. If still failed, he or she cannot continue his/her study anymore.
