Invited by Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics and International Office of JU, Dean Prof. Roger Riewe, from Institute of Architecture Technology, Graz University of Technology visited our university and gave a lecture for our faculty. He was warmly welcomed by Prof. Ronggui Liu, chairman of faculty affairs committee, Dean Prof. Ying Luo and other leaders of our faculty.

Prof. Roger Riewe delivered a lecture with the topic of “Green Building”. All the teachers and students of our faculty attended this lecture.

At first, Prof. Roger Riewe briefly introduced the concept of green building. Then, he showed us two patents of outer walls design which have been achieved by him at Riegler Riewe Architecture Office and several large projects he have accomplished in Austria and Swiss. Through the abovementioned examples, he introduced the technology ofbuilding ventilation design, new outer walls, geothermal resources, pure white concrete, and photovoltaic panels which were used in green building.

Under the framework of joint education, two sides will gradually cooperate in technology certifications, personnel training and so on, which related to green building.
