The 23rd International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM-2012) was held in Beijing on 2012 August 20-24. Prof. Ying Luo,the member of Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of Jiangsu University attended thiscongress. He was invited to give a academic lecture on “Generation of Leaky Lamb waves by apiezoelectric wafer active sensor in a fluid”. Prof. Baiqiang Xu, PhD supervisor of solid mechanics and deputy dean of Faculty of Science of Jiangsu University was also gave a report named “Numerical modeling of laser-induced picoseconds ultrasound in micro-nano thin films” at the congress.

The 13th Conference on Experimental Mechanics was held in Kunming in the summer. of 2012 Delegation of Prof. Ying Luo, including Prof. Bill Yuh J. Chao from South Carolina State University attended this conference. More than 200 experts and scholars from home and aboard exchanged their views on the research development of traditional methods, technology and equipments of mechanics.
